Why choose Inventors & Makers?

By Teachers for Teachers

Inventors & Makers was founded by teachers and all of our workshops and clubs are delivered by qualified and experienced primary teachers. We understand what it's like to mange a class and we know how to ensure your pupils are learning effectively.

Education Not Entertainment

Unlike some companies, we don't just put on a show. We believe that valuable learning comes from hands-on activities with plenty of opportunities for pupils to think creatively, work in teams and problem solve for themselves, whether they're aged 3 or 11.

Saves You Time & Effort

Once you've made your booking, we'll do all the hard work for you. We'll plan the sessions, bring the materials, take care of the delivery, and even leave you with parent information sheets, printable display resources and follow up ideas.

Trust in Experts

We extensively plan and test all of our workshops and clubs before we come to you. As well as being qualified teachers, all of our workshop and club leaders are experts at delivering STEM to these age groups.

From EYFS to KS2

We support primary schools throughout their pupils' journeys

EYFS

Our workshops and clubs for EYFS focus on play and exploration.

We always incorporate a sensory warm up, a story, a song, physical movement and hands-on explorative activities.

KS1 & KS2

Our KS1 & KS2 workshops and clubs teach specific STEM concepts that are then reinforced through investigative activities.

In KS1 workshops we often link to stories to bring the learning to life.

In KS2 we always highlight STEM Heroes who have made an impact within their field to inspire STEM heroes of the future.

"I would wholeheartedly recommend Inventors & Makers to other teachers and will definitely book them to come back to our school again in the future"

 - Miss Rimmer, Reception Teacher, Howe Green House School

"The workshops were brilliant, with a practical mix of learning and fun within the field of engineering. We were really pleased to find such a quality offer for all students from Nursery to Year 6."

In-Person Workshops
Mrs Clark, Headteacher Rougham Primary

“The workshops were fantastic. They were age appropriate, engaging and very well resourced and organised, with clear learning outcomes. It was lovely for the children to experience something different and they’ve both raised the profile of science and enthused teachers to plan more practical lessons.”

Engineering Clubs
 Jane Berry
Park Mead Primary

“This club makes teaching STEM easy! I loved all the subject knowledge and technical vocabulary that was taught alongside making models and testing structures. The children felt like real engineers by the end of the course and their parents said that it was the best club they'd ever joined!”

Online Workshops
Deputy Headteacher
Chiswick & Bedford Park Prep

“We thoroughly enjoyed the online workshops with total child engagement, good use of scientific vocabulary and a great balance between input and practical activities.

It was really interesting and well structured, pitched at exactly the right level and hands-on fun. Couldn’t fault it!

What Teachers are Saying

Staff Training & CPD

Give All Your Staff the Skills & Confidence to Teach STEM

Research shows that when pupils engage in engineering at school, their outcomes improve across the whole curriculum.

Our CPD STEM Training gives your staff across the school the skills they need to bring engineering into their classrooms, helping pupils in all subjects and raising the profile of STEM in the whole school.

Plus, we'll help you:

  • Equip staff with simple and practical ideas they can use in their existing planning.

  • Enrich pupils' learning as teachers embed STEM ideas into every subject from Art to PE.

  • Impress parents, governors and OFSTED by showing them how much you value STEM as part of a 21st century education.

Our CPD training can be run in-person as part of a twilight session or on an INSET day. Alternatively use our pre-recorded self-led CPD session to run your training affordably and flexibly on your own schedule.

"“The resources were very easy to access, information was clearly presented and the activities were fun and engaging with minimum set up due to the use of easily accessible resources. The online format was perfect as it allowed us to pause the presentation to assemble resources and discuss points. It was also useful to be able to rewind and repeat parts of the video. All attendees were very enthused at the end of the session and were happy to leave with practical ideas to take back and use in their classrooms as well as activities to disseminate to their colleagues in other year groups. An excellent resource for teacher CPD would highly recommend.”
